Hell In A Cell 2020

Updated: Oct 26, 2020

R-Truth defeated Drew Gulak to retain the 24/7 Championship (5:23)

* (Being Generous) Thumbs Down

This was the part of the pre-show. Thankfully this was surrounded by good stuff. I keep saying this is not a recap blog. I just give my thoughts and ratings

Thumbs Up Pre-Show

Between the show intro and opening match video package (which we just saw at the end of the pre-show) it was 7:08pm by the time Jey Uso’s music hit and 7:15pm by the time the match started.

Hell in a Cell “I Quit” match: WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso

2 Thumbs Up Mostly for the drama

Winner: Roman Reigns

Elias vs. Jeff Hardy

Thumbs Up

Elias did a quick performance about Hardy being a drunk.

Jeff Hardy got DQed when Hardy smashed a guitar over Elias

They had the best match they could possibly have in the time they got.

7 minutes 50 seconds **3/4

Miz vs. Otis for Otis's MITB contract/briefcase

It looked like Otis took the stiffest looking kick that can be possible be dealt and was fine.

So either it wasn't that bad or Otis is just a tough bastard

Tucker finally turned heel and gave his former partner the hardest looking briefcase shot that could possible be dealt. Otis did not look fine after that lets just say. Also....wrestling is fake, stop with the stiff shots.

** Thumbs Up

The story of this show so far seems to be that of close friends turning on each other after, covetousness and forcing someone into submission. Speaking of which....

Bailey vs Sasha for the SD Women's Championship Inside Hell In A Cell

****1/2 Thumbs Up

It's Hell In A Cell so that means all the smoke and mirrors in the world.....for two people who need it least of all.

Winner & New SD Women's Championship: Sasha Banks

And finally!!!...... a babyface won on this show. I don't count the pre-show

Bobby Lashley vs. Slapjack for the US Championship

Why is Lashley selling for this dude?

Lashley Won

** Thumbs In The Middle Pointing Up

Are we supposed to just know Mia Yim is in Retribution. She's done nothing to conceal it.

Also who's the geekier stable? Aces & Eights, Nexus Or Retribution......I say Retribution. At least Nexus & Aces & 8s won matches and had champions in their respective groups.

Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre For The WWE Championship Inside Hell In A Cell

The Fiend needs to come out and challenge the winner or start a feud with the loser.

It wouldn't be a HIAC ppv without such an event. That's the best thing that can happen for this match.

What's the point of the cell if you can simply use bolt cutters to unlock it?

This matched seems too choreographed.

Bless their hearts, they're trying so hard

Drew falling of the cage and selling internal damage and bleeding is good drama.

This stopped being boring.

Randy Won!!! Clean

****1/4 Thumbs

An easy thumbs up with 3 4+ star matches and a 2 thumbs up segment. 2 of the 4+ star matches are up for BGP match of the year.
