Friday Night Smackdown 1/29/2021

SmackDown started with Daniel Bryan already in the ring leading the fans in the Yes chant. He welcomed everyone to SmackDown and Royal Rumble weekend. Bryan's excited for the Rumble this Sunday. He's accomplished a lot in his career, but he never won the Royal Rumble before.

Bryan noted that winning the Rumble means being in the main event of WrestleMania. He's done it before, so nobody knows better than him. Bryan doesn't know how many Royal Rumbles he has left in his career.

Bryan's ready for the Rumble thanks to Chad Gable and Otis' training. He said his hips are loose, and he's ready for the Rumble.

Suddenly, Raw's AJ Styles music hit, and he walked out with Omos. Bryan noted that both brands participate in the Rumble, but he doesn't know why Styles is here tonight.

Omos noted Styles is on SmackDown because of the quarterly brand-to-brand invitational. It's been a while since anyone mentioned the brand-to-brand invitational.

Styles mocked Bryan's suit and said he doesn't look ready to compete in the Rumble. He noted Bryan seems like a guy with one foot out the door. Styles wondered if Bryan is a GM again.

Bryan then challenged Styles to match later tonight. Styles noted he's getting ready for the Rumble by beating everyone on Raw. He accepted the challenged and shoved Bryan to the ground.

Omos got in Bryan's way, and they had a brief staredown. Bryan then challenged Styles to leave Omos in the back for their match.

They recapped Bianca Belair defeating Bayley in the obstacle course and the post-match attack.

Bayley charged at Belair but got dropped on the top turnbuckle. Belair then hit the KOD for the win.

After the match, Kalya Braxton interviewed Belair on the ramp. She praised Bayley but said she's not her role model. Belair was overwhelmed with emotion because it's the biggest win of her career. She promised to win the Rumble Sunday night. When a babyface promises to win they either deliver or shown to be dorks. So lets she what happens. I mean in 2013 Rock promised to win WWE Championship at the Rumble and looked what happened.

In the back, Reginald approached Banks in the hallway and gave her a bottle of wine. She pretended to flirt with Reginald. Banks wanted the perfect wine for Carmella to drink with a broken jaw. She mocked Reginald and walked off. He slowly smiled as she walked away.

Zayn brought up all the ways he helped Nakamura. He now needs Nakamura to help him win the Intercontinental title from Big E. Zayn asked Nakamura to watch his back. Nakamura turned him down and told him to go to hell.

Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns Interview

This was a great segment between Owens and Reigns. They were both awesome during the interview.

Reigns and Owens were in two separate rooms for the interview.

Kevin Owens noted he beat Roman Reigns several times, but his family is always helping him. Heyman was furious and demanded Owens give Reigns respect. Reigns wants to understand Owens better and asked about his father.

Owens warned Reigns to be careful. Reigns asked if his father is a smart man. Owens said his father is a smart man, and if Reigns is smart, he better be careful.

Reigns said if his father was smart, he should have raised Owens better. Reigns noted Owens is the pawn on the chessboard. Everything revolves around Reigns.

Reigns noted Owens could only blame his family. He said Owens is a fool, which means his father is a fool, and so is his grandfathers. Owens knows what Reigns is up to and warned him again.

Reigns became frustrated and noted Owens still doesn't understand. He said maybe Owens would understand when he meets his grandfathers again. Owens, called Reigns, is a jackass and tries to be a cool mafia boss. Reigns is just a bully.

When Owens looks in the mirror, he sees someone his father, wife, grandfather, and family can be proud of. Owens became so upset that he had to leave

Why can Sheamus just insert himself in an unscheduled match already in progress?

Where the fuck was he earlier?

Braun Strowman returning as a babyface and entering the Rumble would have been a nice surprise.............

FOR THE SHOW PEOPLE PAY FOR!!!!!

The last 3 matches was just a symptom of lazy booking

Where the fuck was everyone? Seems like there were like 20 people on this show and everyone else had the night off.

What a coincidence, RAW invaded and the show became stupid. It's infectious.
